Join in the fight to save the human race from zombie apocalypse!

Story:
A terrible man-made virus has stricken the land turning people into ravenous, hungry zombies!  The world’s finest scientists have gathered at a top secret government lab in Seven Points, TX to try and undo the terrible mistake that has driven the world into mad chaos.  A small band of soldiers have taken up arms to guard the facility and hold off the zombies until a cure can be found.  The scientists are getting close, but time is running out!  The soldiers are preparing to make their last stand against zombie invasion and they need all the help they can get!  They’ve put out the call for anyone willing and able to join them in the fight!

Game:
Try to keep the zombies from overrunning the research base while avoiding becoming a zombie yourself!  Players must try to keep the zombies as far away from the research base as possible.  As human players are eliminated by zombies, they will become zombies.  The scientists at the research facility are getting close to a cure and have developed many vaccines for the virus which they will be testing to perfect the cure.  Collect these vaccines at resupply points during the game and boost your resistance to the zombie virus.  It’s rumored that some people may have a natural immunity to the virus.

Game Description:
A tactical retreat scenario involving two teams of unequal numbers.  This game will be a two day event consisting of three segments.  In each segment the game plot will unfold revealing new details about the story to the players, changing how they will continue the game.

Theme:
Zombie Land is not based on any particular zombie story, but incorporates elements from popular zombie movies.  The “zombies” in our game will try to eliminate “human” players by shooting them out.  Each human player a limited number of “lives” that will allow them to resist being turned into a zombie. Each time a human player is eliminated, he will return to his designated respawn point and “cash in” one of his lives to return to active play.  Once all of his lives have been spent, that player must report to the zombie insertion and continue the game as a zombie.  As the zombie army grows larger and the human army begins to shrink, the game shall progress along a planned path to simulate the “retreat.”

Explanation of segments:
Segment 1: Zombies Attack
The zombie team will attack the human team, attempting to convert them into zombies.  The human team will be forced to retreat.  Humans will collect resupply boxes throughout the segment to enhance their ability to resist the zombie invasion.
Segment 2: Vaccination
All surviving humans from segment 1 will be vaccinated against the zombie virus making them immune to conversion.  The two armies will battle for control of territory until night play stand down.
Segment 3: The Cure
A cure to the disease has been found.  The remaining human players, immune to the virus, will attack the zombie force in an attempt to restore humanity by re-converting the zombies back into humans. Zombies will be forced to retreat as the human population restores itself.  The game will end when all zombies have been eliminated, or 2:00pm, whichever comes first.

Rules:
Unless otherwise stated, this scenario will follow the latest version of the GSRP.
Special Rules:
Resistance – every player has a resistance to the disease/cure.  This level of resistance is expressed on their Resistance Level Card, issued at the time of registration.  Players may gain more resistance by pre-registering for the event.  The earlier the player preregisters the more resistance they will have.  Additional resistance may come in the form of inoculations or vaccines. These must be administered by Doctors.

Doctors (medics)
– Doctors can “patch up” players during battle.  A Doctor can heal any hit a player receives unless it is a head shot.  No remedy can cure a head shot.  To heal a player a doctor must tie a bandage on his arm.  A healed player may only have one bandage per arm.  If a player has been bandaged on each arm and receives yet another hit he will be considered beyond healing and must report to his nearest respawn point.

Nurses – more common than a medic, nurses lack the ability to heal a player wounded in combat. A nurse can, however, boost a players resistance to the virus by inoculating them against infection.

Naturally Immune – A small number of players will be chosen to naturally immune to the virus.  This allows the human race to study the immunity and develop a vaccine and eventually a cure.  You will not know if you are immune until you have lost all of your resistance to the virus.  To be eligible for natural immunity you must preregister for the event.
Immunity Booster – Available in your resupply drops.  When you are eliminated you may present this booster in place of having your resistance card punched. Works like an “extra life” to extend your play as a human.

Insertions:
The attacking team in each segment will insert from a single base.   The attackers insertion periods will begin at every 5 minutes.  1 minute will be added for every 10 zombies. The maximum insertion period will be every 10 minutes.
The defending or retreating team in each segment will insert from the nearest respawn point which it controls.  Once a respawn point is overrun or abandoned it will close and the retreating team will activate the next respawn point available on the map.  To activate a respawn point, the retreating team must place its flag at the flagstation on that respawn point. The retreating team may only ever have one active respawn point at a time.  The attacking team has no control over its respawn point.
